OBSERVATIONS ON THE GAME OF SUDOKU
or
ALL YOU EVER WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT SUDOKU BUT WERE AFRAID TO ASK
Over the years that I’ve been enjoying Sudoku I have managed to come up with two unique approaches. I have developed a very useful and helpful personal relationship with the numbers which eventually moved me in the direction of envisioning what I consider to be a highly successful method of solution.
I’d like to describe how this evolved, and the implications inherent in the presence of such highly activated numbers.
I have written this in hopes that there may be others who would like to try a system which has the advantage of adding so much depth to an already enjoyable pursuit.
With this end in mind I have produced two versions of the one paper: the first is a radically condensed version more accessible and agreeable meant for the more casual reader, the second is far more descriptive.
For an abbreviatted version, please return to the Main Page and click "short Sudoku".
i hope you might be interested enough to give my more detailed and personal version a try.
Every morning I go downstairs, crank up the printer, rouse the computer, and set them to work producing my treat for the morning: I then pour my coffee and settle in for a good adventure.
I can’t wait to see what Sudoku has in store for me.
I LOVE SUDOKU
I have been totally enraptured by the delightful antics and amazing combinations the numbers are capable of.
Each game can catch your interest and keep you going like a good story line: It’s like an ongoing novel, A SITCOM with all its myriad particularities and all that entails; conflict, confusion, mystery, and suspense. Chasing numbers around can be so entertaining – like an amusement park ride. Sometimes the moves are so satisfying and pretty, the game is so loaded with captivating scenarios and surprising resolutions that I am thoroughly beguiled. There are always new and often amazing pickles to work your way out of and occasionally huge tangles like a plate of spaghetti. There are untenable predicaments, and undesirable nonnegotiable situations are frequent.
Imagine: an example of what can be done with a grid some numbers, a pencil and some imagination.
I START MY MORNING WITH THE HAPPY and POSITIVE QUESTION: WHAT KIND OF HOOPS ARE THOSE NUMBERS GOING TO PUT ME THROUGH TODAY?
